It's the one day a year we put aside to remember fallen heroes and to pray that no heroes will ever have to die for us again. It's a day of thanks for the valor of others, a day to remember the splendor of America, Key Biscayne, and a day to be with the family.
The program will include:
- The Village of Key Biscayne Police and Fire Rescue Color Guard
- Keynote speakers from the Village and Miami-Dade County
- Cadets from MAST Academy Coast Guard Jr. Leadership Program
- A Ceremonial Laying of the Wreath in remembrance of those who have died in service to our country.
- Prayer and reflection of our nation's military and their families.
- Historical interpretations and reading of "In Flanders Fields".
- The selling of poppies to give financial, social, and emotional support to members and veterans of the armed forces.
- Patriotic Songs: National Anthem and God Bless America
All are welcomed to this community event to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
