Event Description:
"Evening with an Author" Amy Paige Codon in conversation with Craig Baggs and Dr. Gregory Bush.

Amy Paige Condon will discuss her new book in conversation with Craig Baggs and historian Gregory Bush: A Nervous Man Shouldn't be Here in the First Place: The Life of Bill Baggs. This first biography of trailblazing newspaper editor Bill Baggs retraces how an orphaned boy from rural Colquitt, Georgia, bore witness and impact to some of the 20th century's most earth-shifting events; World War II, the civil rights movement, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Vietnam War.

The Miami News won three Pulitzer Prizes under Bill Baggs' leadership. His role in championing the preservation of Key Biscayne's southern end led to the creation of Cape Florida State Park, which was posthumously named in his honor.
